Worldviews

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about worldviews and how to engage people of differing worldviews in conversation. In 2005 I put together a flowchart of the major worldviews to aid that conversation (click on the image below to enlarge). For more infographics like this go to http://visualunit.me.

To explain what each of the worldviews are I created a summary sheet with diagrams.

  1. Hello and Greetings!
I’m fascinated by your graphic on Worldviews. I’m a Calvary Chapel missionary working in Germany since 1990. in 2023 I started a discussion group for inquirers we call TruthSeekrz. I plan to pass out a flier inviting international students to attend this meeting. I’d like to use your graphic on the flier. Can you inform me whether I can use it and whether I would have to pay a royalty fee? My preference would be to have permission free of charge as we are a small church and on a very limited budget. If you can find it in your heart to grant this permission you would be helping advance the Kingdom of God in Germany.
Feel free to contact me at the address below.
    Blessings,
Robert Thomason, pastor Calvary Chapel Darmstadt (website not yet online)

    • Hi Robert, thanks for your message and thanks for asking for permission to use the chart. You can use to chart as you’ve described without charge. If possible could you please send me a copy of the flier when it is finished so I can see how the chart is being used. I have the chart translated into German if that is helpful. Let me know if you’d like a copy and I will email it to you. I’m currently working on an online version of the chart but that is still a while away. May God bless your ministry in Germany. Cameron

  2. Hi, your chart would be a very handy tool for engaging with Uni students at guild fair days on our campus. Would you be happy for us to use it? For a Christian student guild club in Perth. Australia.

    • Hi Toni, happy for you to use the chart. Can I ask please what your club is called and what campus your at in Perth? FYI – The chart has been used by Christian students at UWA.

      • Thank you very much Cameron. We are Christian Union at ECU. Your chart has generated some good conversations at UWA so we hope it will be the same for our campus too.

  3. Hello Cameron,
I would also like to use your flowchart “What’s Your Worldview?” for my book “Worldview of the Christian Faith”. Is there a specific email I can use to forward my permission form? I did send it to you via your LinkedIn account. (At least I think it was your account.)
    Thanks,

  4. Dear Cameron Blair
May I have permision to use your chart in helping people identifying different worldviews. I have found what you have put together extremely helpful

  5. Hi ! I have a question, what does the ‘meaning’ stands for ? I’m sorry for not getting what is it. I really want to understand this whole diagram.

    Thank you so much !

    • Hi Althea, thanks for the question. It’s a natural human desire to search for meaning in life, to find a reason for existence, to locate something to guide the choices we make. Those who believe in a God(s) find their meaning in life through their relationship with the God(s) they have put their faith in. Those who don’t believe in a God(s), look for meaning in life in something other than God, whether that be in humanity, the natural world, themselves etc. etc. Does that answer your question?

  6. Great diagrams! We may want to use them in a presentation about end times as told in the book of Revelation. If we decide to use them…I want to first find out if we have your permission.

    • Hi Lisa, thanks for the encouragement. We don’t know the Vong family. Do you know which mission agency they are working with in Cambodia?
